Campfires and forest smells

Pretty amazing day yesterday. The temperature was in the low 80's. That's almost considered hot around here. Because there are so many fir and cedar trees it reminded me of camping. The air smelled like camping. You know how it is when you are in a wooded forest with a little campfire going. Camp chairs around a low burning fire. Kind of lazy. Though I know camping is a lot of work. Really. It was a pretty amazing day. Got to sit outside in the sunshine. Got to take a drive down to Fort Columbia State Park. Also went to the North Jetty at Cape Disappointment, but the road was blocked off to get all the way out to the jetty. Got to walk around with the dog a bit. Life is good. I mean really good. Now you might wonder why this seems special to me and why yesterday. We really don't have that many days around here that are like the one we had yesterday. Days like this are far and few between and you just have to get out there and make the most of it. Enjoy the little moments that come your way.
